Privacy policy

Last changed 2026-08-27

Library Mode is run by The Digital Ad Lab ("we"). This page says what we collect, why, and what you can do about it — in ordinary words. It applies to the website at librarymo.de and the librarymode tool.

What we collect

  • Your email address — to sign you in and send you receipts or important notices about your account. We do not send marketing email.
  • The name you choose for your links, and an optional display name.
  • Your projects — the files and versions you save, the notes you write on them, and the About text. Private projects are visible only to you; public ones to anyone with the link.
  • Connected computers — the name of each computer you connect and when it was last used, so you can manage them.
  • Payment status — whether you're on Plus and when it renews. Card details are held by Stripe, not by us. Stripe's own privacy policy applies to them.
  • Ordinary server records — the address a request came from, the time, and which page or action, kept for 30 days to keep the service running and to detect abuse.

What we don't do

  • No advertising, and no advertising trackers.
  • No analytics scripts from third parties. We count page views from our own server records only.
  • We don't sell, rent or share your data with anyone, except the companies that help us run the service (below).
  • We don't look inside your private projects unless you ask us to for support, or the law requires it.

Cookies

One cookie, to keep you signed in. No others.

Who helps us run the service

  • Fly.io — hosts the servers and stores your projects (United States).
  • Backblaze — holds encrypted nightly backups (United States).
  • Cloudflare — sits in front of the website to keep it fast and fend off attacks.
  • Stripe — processes payments.
  • An email provider, to deliver sign-in links and receipts.

Each of these is bound by a contract to use your data only to provide their service to us.

Your rights

Wherever you live, you can:

  • See everything we hold: your account details are in Settings; every project can be downloaded as a zip.
  • Correct your details in Settings.
  • Delete any project (project page → Delete) — it's removed immediately and disappears from backups within 30 days.
  • Delete your whole account — email us from your account's address and it's done within 7 days.
  • Object or complain — write to us first; if you're in the EU/EEA or UK you can also complain to your data-protection authority.

If you're in the EU/EEA or UK: we process your data to provide the service you asked for (contract), to keep it secure (legitimate interest), and to meet legal obligations. Data is stored in the United States under standard contractual clauses.

Children

Library Mode isn't directed at children under 16, and we don't knowingly keep their data. If you think a child has an account, tell us and we'll remove it.

Changes

If we change this policy in a way that matters, we'll email account holders before it takes effect. The date at the top always shows the last change.
